The competition is an opportunity for aspiring filmmakers and festival participants to display their creativity and skills by producing a short clip, 60 seconds or less, with the theme, “my CAPA Festival experience.” This can include but is not limited to creating a short commercial clip of one’s participating festival organization, one’s festival experience, or the impact CAPA has had on your life or that of a family member, friend or colleague. This is an excellent opportunity for participating festival organizations to create a commercial about their organization to increase awareness. Everyone is encouraged to participate with your video, digital and even cell phone cameras.

The competition grand prize winner will receive $200, free booth space at next year’s festival, product sponsor prizes, and screenings at partner and sponsor events. Runner up winner will receive $100, free booth space at next year’s festival and product sponsor prizes. A “Fan Favorite” prize winner will receive $100 and free booth space at next year’s festival. Booth space prizes are transferable.

Grand prize and runner up prize winners will be judged by a panel from the Asian American Film Lab, Aspire Asian Film Circle, the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans, independent filmmakers and industry enthusiasts. All entrants must post their entries online (site to be announced). The “Fan Favorite” will be decided by votes cast by visitors to the site.

All submissions must be posted online on or before midnight EST on Monday, June 2nd, 2008.
