Advertising
The Advertising Committee is responsible for reaching out to community businesses that would be interested in supporting CAPA and the festival by purchasing advertising space within our annual souvenir brochure. Booths
The Booths Committee is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the process of hosting community organizations, businesses and other interested participants at the festival. This involves getting in touch with the mentioned parties, tracking applications and payments, following up on phone calls, and working with other CAPA officers and chairs. Brochure
The Brochure Committee is responsible for the layout, coordinating, working with designers, and the production of the souvenir brochure that is distributed for free at the festival every year. It contains listings of organizations, performers, small businesses, supporters, articles, events calendar and a schedule for the days events and performances. Childrens Hour
The Childrens Hour Committee is responsible for organizing a program for the younger members of the APA community. This committees focus is to address the needs of the young by promoting cultural awareness in an entertaining environment. Demonstration / Arts & Crafts
The Demonstration / Arts & Crafts Committee is responsible for organizing the portion of the festival with a variety of martial arts demonstrations kiosks where participants can get exposed to various Asian arts and take home samples of calligraphy, paintings, paper folding and more. Food
The Food Committee is responsible for coordinating the logistics of selling of food by organizations or vendors. This committee also assists the booths committee in deciding the layout of the festival. If youre interested in finding out more or getting involved, contact us at [email protected].

Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee outreaches to corporations and individuals that are supportive of the Asian Pacific American community, CAPA, and the Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival. Obtaining sponsorships for the Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival, facilitating contact with corporate representatives, and following up are the main responsibilities of the Fundraising Committee. Logistics for the day of the festival involving corporate sponsors are also the responsibilities of the fundraising committee. Outreach
The Outreach Committee is responsible for reaching out to members of the community that have been under represented within the APA community and inviting them to participate at the Festival as booths, performers, demonstrators, or advertisers. Performance
The Performance Committee is responsible for conducting a formal selection of performances that are presented at the Festival. Performances are selected on the basis of cultural diversity and quality. Performers who are interested in performing at the festival should contact 212-989-3610 or e-mail to [email protected]. Submissions should include a videotape and can be sent to CAPAs main address to the attention of the Performance Committee. Publicity
The Publicity Committee is responsible for preparing and distributing press releases, information, and ads to various media venues. Site
The Site Committee is responsible for selecting a location for the festival, obtaining permits, requesting Community Board approval, insuring the event, and coordinating site logistics. If youre interested in finding out more or getting involved, contact us at [email protected].

Stage
The Stage Committee works closely with the Performance Committee in preparing for the needs of the outdoor performances. This includes the physical stage, sound systems, dressing rooms, and any other special needs that are necessary.
