ORGANIZATION OF CHINESE AMERICANS, INC. (OCA) is a national non-profit, non-partisan organization headquartered in Washington D.C. Founded in 1973, it's 41 chapters and 30 college affiliates are committed to encourage the active leadership of Chinese Americans in all levels of civil and national affairs in securing justice, equal opportunity and equal treatment of Asian Americans.

PROJECT BY PROJECT (PbP) was founded by young Asian American professionals committed to developing new means of effecting social change. Innovation marks our method; integrity, our mission. We forge partnerships with community-based organizations and design campaigns based on their specific needs. These needs can range from fundraising to public outreach to membership development. Working on a volunteer basis, the PbP team uses a diverse network of public, private and community resources to achieve our partner's goals. Project by Project strives not only to aid organizations, but also to inspire individuals into a new spirit of philantrophy.

REFUGEE WOMEN COUNCIL (RWC) was established in 1986 to help refugee women with acculturation and integration in their new environment. The purpose of RWC is to provide a platform for refugee women to identify and make known their needs, problems and aspirations. Membership includes women from Afghanistan, Bosnia, Ethiopia, Somalia, Zaire, Romania, Albania, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and the former Soviet Union.

RENAISSANCE ASIAN NETWORK Founded in 1994, to serve as a network among Asian professionals & grad students around the world. The "RENNETWORK" provides its members with the opportunity to meet and network through social events, outings and trips throughout the year. Renaissance also plays a major role in the Asian American community by promoting awareness and other charitable Asian American organizations. SAKHI FOR SOUTH ASIAN WOMEN Sakhi, meaning "woman friend" is a non-profit organization based in New York City that works to end violence against women of South Asian origin through advocacy, education, leadership development, and community organizing. Our mission is to empower women and build a violence-free society. Sakhi provides information to battered women, conducts monthly support groups, runs free legal clinics and English tutoring, and helps women access social services. Sakhi for South Asian Women also publishes a newsletter and speaks out against violence at various forums. We encourage you to get involved! This year marks Sakhi's 10th Anniversary: Celebrating Survival, Strength and Sisterhood.

SINGH FOUNDATION Singh stands for Secular India's National Growth and Harmony. We support groups and individuals in India working to promote religious harmony and the betterment of the poor. Sambhavna Clinic, working with victims of the Union Carbide Bhopal gas explosion; civil liberties groups; flood relief work; women's groups. we organize U.S. tours for progressive filmmakers and intellectuals from India. SOCIETY OF TAIWANESE AMERICANS (SOTA) was founded by post-college, second generation Taiwanese in 1993. It is a growing national organization which has chapters in several metropolitan areas in North America. Current SOTA regions include Chicago, Cincinnati, Maryland, New England (Boston), New Jersey, New York, and Washington, D.C. in the United States. Most members of SOTA are young professionals, and individuals of all ages, races, creeds, and nationalities are welcome. SOTA's primary objectives are to build a more unified community of Taiwanese Americans for the future generation, to retain their Taiwanese heritage, and to strengthen the identity of Taiwanese Americans in the American society. TAIWANESE AMERICAN CITIZENS LEAGUE (TACL) NEW YORK CHAPTER promotes goodwill and citizenship of Taiwanese-Americans and works towards the inclusion of Taiwanese Americans in American life. Achieving equality and bettering our lives in the United States are our foremost goals. TACL-NY follows a three pronged approach: 1) Identity: building an understanding of Taiwanese-American heritage, encouraging pride in Taiwanese-American identity, and contributing to the Taiwanese-American culture; 2) Networking: with other Taiwanese-American organizations, Asian Pacific American groups, and other citizens, as a means of empowerment, to gain respect from and equality with all Americans; and 3) Citizenship: helping to instill in our community a greater sense of citizenship, stressing both the responsibilities and rights that come with it, so that all may share in the task of forging a strong future and the benefits that follow.

THE WORKSHOP: ASIAN AMERICAN FILM COLLABORATIVE is a group of New York based filmmakers who meet weekly to hone their craft and to share resources. Founded in December 1998, the Workshop is committed to creating a space for skills to be sharpened, new work to be created, and relationships to be fostered. By working with writers, actors and artists in various fields to produce outstanding work that entertains and challenges, the Workshop aims to promote a flourishing new Asian American Cinema. The Workshop recently produced a collaborative digital video project titled "Avenue of the Asian Americas."

YKASEC The Young Korean American Service & Education Center, Inc. (YKASEC) seeks to enhance the lives of Korean Americans in greater New York through programs in education, community organizing, culture and social service. YKASEC holds classes, community forums, archives of educational materials, conducts a free legal advice clinic, naturalization clinic, and cultural workshops and performances of Poong-mool (Korean traditional percussion). YKASEC also actively participates in immigrant rights coalitions and conducts educational outreach to Korean American and other communities.
