Audition for the 2004 CAPA Festival!

How would you like to perform on May 2nd, 2004 in front of thousands of spectators?

On May 2nd, 2004 from noon-6pm, 10 performing arts groups from the New York tri-state area will perform in front of an audience of over 10,000 on the main stage in Union Square Park.

We are currently seeking submissions from artists and companies working in music and/or dance including folk, traditional, and contemporary expressions. The performance showcase must be appropriate for a 20-minute performance on an outdoor stage. Performers are paid.

To submit, please mail complete contact information including a biography, past performances list, and a NTSC VHS videotape or DVD of a recent performance with at least 5 minutes of highlights in the review time. The video will be the primary tool to evaluate submissions. Supplementary CD recordings, photographs and letters of recommendation are also accepted.

The event has a history of high media coverage featured in the New York Times, Newsday, the Village Voice, TimeOut magazine, NY1 News, and many ethnic papers.
